Thrifty Mortgage

My name is Gina Lemelin (pronounced Lem-lin)

About twenty years ago, I was working two jobs while putting myself through college. I was broke and frustrated and one day admitted to the father of the children I was baby sitting for, (who just happened to be a vice president of a mortgage company) that I was not making enough to pay for college. He told me he had a position opened and told me it was mine if I was interested. I was VERY interested and so began my career in the mortgage industry. I was hired as a courier, which is hilarious because those who know me well will tell you I get lost every where I go.

My supervisor was quick to pick up on this fact and "promoted" me to the closing department. This is the department that is responsible to prepare the final paper work sent to the attorney for the Borrower and Seller to sign. I fell in love with the business and from that point on worked very hard to learn every process involved with getting a loan to the closing table.

I have to tell you, I had a lot to learn. I initially thought Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were actual people and that they were married! Yes, it is slightly embarrassing to admit this fact; however, I share this with you so you can understand that at one time, I was as lost you in the process. Until I began my career in the mortgage industry, I had no earthly idea how many processes were involved in getting a mortgage. It is intense to say the least. This is the reason I have made it my mission to grown in my mortgage knowledge every day. Since I began in the industry, I have helped over 7,000 customers obtain home loans and hope to help many more.

Building a team of advisory professionals is essential to long term financial stability and success and since a mortgage is a long term debt , it is my mission is not only advise the customer on a successful mortgage structure but to also help that customer build a network of professionals around them who can help the customer be a financially sound home owner.
